Welcome to a Spacious Place

where Asian American Christians can become leaders who use their power for good.

Asian American Christian leaders hold three playbooks

  1. Asian cultural values,

  2. American societal norms

  3. Christian theological frameworks (which often reflect Western interpretations).

This complexity creates unique tensions that require specialized leadership development approaches.

Through curated and creative experiences, Khora exists to help you holistically integrate LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, SPIRITUAL FORMATION, and RACIAL IDENTITY so you can be leaders who walk away from toxicity and towards tov.

COMMUNITY

Four young adults participating in a team-building activity in a modern office or coworking space. Two women and one man are on a gray couch; the women are reaching out their hands joined together, and the man is kneeling beside them holding a booklet titled 'I know you girl.' All are smiling and appearing engaged.

Our most transformative experience where you can “taste and see” Khora’s trademarked Spacious Leadership Framework in community with others over the course of a 5-month journey.

COHORT

01 The Vision Behind Khora Collective

Judeo-Christian tradition describes “khora” as an incarnate space; it is the space of the person that God enters and fills, rearranging human contours, making new things possible. Here the question of value takes on shape.

02 The Spacious Leadership Model

Psalm 18:19 describes a transition from a season of wilderness and into a spacious space. As a result of experiencing God’s love, goodness, and grace, we move and are sent into new spaces to lead with generosity for the good of others. As we move from and with God’s love, we create loving spaces for others to thrive and flourish.

03 The Values Of Khora

MANIFEST “TOV”: We seek to be leaders who create spaces of goodness culture and actively resist toxicity and abuses of power.

UPHOLD DIGNITY: We uphold the unique dignity of Asian American Christian leaders (including women) in every space.

STEWARD GENEROSITY: We generously give our gifts and talents for kingdom impact across generations for existing and emerging leaders.

REDEEM POWER: We use our power for good so that all Asian American Christian leaders can breathe new life into every space they occupy.

  • "I loved the community of people curated for our time together, the purposeful moderation and questions, and connecting with different people each breakout."

    Mimi C. — Marketplace Professional

  • "I cannot express enough how needed this space for Asian Americans, especially young professionals like me who need to reorient ourselves prior to entering the workforce. This space shaping my identity in God prior to a job possibly doing so is a God send."

    Ai Vy L. Emerging Leader

  • "Not a hyperpole - everything was great! I love the intention with which you designed the session and the progression from one module to the next made sense and built on each other in powerful ways. I LOVE the idea of talking about strengths through storytelling... it's a very non-Western way of intellectual thought and reflection and it really invites people to frame their wins as fulfillment of purpose and being a part of the larger narrative of what God is doing through us. An incredibly long-winded way to say that I loved it ALL!"

    Linda M. — Ministry Executive

  • "Consistent feedback from others that they resonate with the same struggles."

    Mia S.Pastor & Justice Advocate

  • "Spaces like this are so important but they are often bypassed amidst the flurry of activity in what is urgent - Sunday's sermon, the kids' space needs cleaning, a key leader's marriage is on the rocks, the volunteer forgot to lock up the sound room, etc. Thank you for prioritizing what is most important."

    Tom K. — Pastor

  • "Really clear sense of how you will lead the time together, and the kinds of reflections/sharing you will invite people to. The way the leaders show up really models spacious leadership, which I think is essential. The exercises are a great mix of practical knowledge, reflection, sharing."

    David P. — Entrepreneur
