What Is The Spacious
Leadership Framework?

The Spacious Leadership Framework

is inspired by Psalm 18:19

where David transitions

from a season of wilderness

and declares:

“He brought me out into a spacious place;

he rescued me because

he delighted in me.” (NIV)

To recognize spaciousness

is to first understand Khora,

which is an incarnate space;

it is the space of the person

that God enters and fills,

rearranging human contours,

making new things possible

Through this inner transformation,

spaciousness is the experience

of being set free from things

that hold us back;

living in freedom, peace, and joy;

and having an abundance mindset

that values grace, generosity,

and being over doing

Becoming a spacious leader

is a lifelong journey of

whole-life leadership development

where leadership development’s

best principles are wisely integrated

with spiritual direction

In its essence,

the spacious leadership framework

invites leaders

to a transformative experience

of God's goodness in their lives,

so they can resist toxicity,

redeem power, and

create a culture of goodness

in their spheres of influence

What People Are Saying

I cannot express enough how needed this space is for Asian Americans, especially young professionals like me who need to reorient ourselves prior to entering the workforce. This space shaping my identity in God prior to a job possibly doing so is a God send.

- Ai Vy L., Emerging Leader

I loved the community of people curated for our time together, the purposeful moderation and questions, and connecting with different people each breakout.
- Mimi C., Marketplace Professional
Spaces like this are so important but they are often bypassed amidst the flurry of activity in what is urgent - Sunday's sermon, the kids' space needs cleaning, a key leader's marriage is on the rocks, the volunteer forgot to lock up the sound room, etc. Thank you for prioritizing what is most important.
- Tom K., Lead Pastor
Not a hyperpole—everything was great! I love the intention with which you designed the session and the progression from one module to the next made sense and built on each other in powerful ways. I LOVE the idea of talking about strengths through storytelling... it's a very non-Western way of intellectual thought and reflection and it really invites people to frame their wins as fulfillment of purpose and being a part of the larger narrative of what God is doing through us. An incredibly long-winded way to say that I loved it ALL!

- Linda M., Ministry Executive

Really clear sense of how you will lead the time together, and the kinds of reflections/sharing you will invite people to. The way the leaders show up really models spacious leadership, which I think is essential. The exercises are a great mix of practical knowledge, reflection, sharing.

- David P., Entrepreneur

Consistent feedback from others that they resonate with the same struggles.

- Mia S., Pastor & Justice Advocate
