About Us

Khora Collective creates a kingdom culture of leadership that is generous and spacious for all Asian American Christian ministry and marketplace leaders across all generations

We integrate whole-life leadership development experiences and spiritual formation contextualized for all Asian American Christians to become spacious redemptive leaders in ministry and marketplace

Khora Collective is a spacious place, where Asian Americans can become leaders who use their power for the good of the whole kingdom.

MANIFEST “TOV”: We seek to be leaders who create spaces of goodness culture and actively resist toxicity and abuses of power.

UPHOLD DIGNITY: We uphold the unique dignity of Asian American Christian leaders (including women) in every space.

STEWARD GENEROSITY: We generously give our gifts and talents for kingdom impact across generations for existing and emerging leaders.

REDEEM POWER: We use our power for good so that all Asian American Christian leaders can breathe new life into every space they occupy.

Khora is the Greek word for “space.” It is sometimes used in philosophy and architecture to denote a space that is not defined by boundaries or forms, often associated with ideas of openness and potential. Judeo-Christian tradition describes khora as incarnate space; it is the space of the person that God enters and fills, rearranging human contours, making new things possible

Psalm 18:19 is our key verse: “He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me   because he delighted in me” (NIV)

Ultimately to abide in Christ is to dwell in the most spacious place imaginable

A few of the founders providentially encountered each other at the Fourth Lausanne Congress in Korea in September 2024. Two of them (Yulee and Jenn) literally bumped into each other when they were trying not to photobomb Richard’s photo. Then the three of them ended up talking for three hours about what God was doing in their hearts

They discovered that they share a common burden for developing Asian American Christian leaders in ministry and the marketplace. They discussed the lack of a strong Asian American Christian community, mentorship experience for emerging leaders, and healthy leadership development that included spiritual formation

A desire grew to form an organization that would focus on whole-life leadership development and spiritual formation, cultivate a goodness culture that actively resists abuses of power and toxicity, address cultural wounds and uplift the unique value of Asian American Christian leaders in every space

We will run a 5-month virtual Khora-Cohort experience, including an in-person retreat, for emerging and existing Asian American Christian leaders. Those who go through this transformative experience will learn a new framework and value system of leadership that is generous and spacious. They will understand the unique cultural and systemic challenges they face as Asian Americans in leadership and discover what it looks like to become a redemptive spacious leader in their specific context
